| Mecklenburg Audubon is dedicated to environmental education. Through its monthly meetings and special classes it a wide variety of learning activities for nature lovers of all ages. MAS is especially proud of its activities with K-12 children through, especially its sponsorship of 35 Audubon Adventure Classes. |
| MAS also helped start a nature reading program at Winterfield Elementary School by purchasing books for the classrooms. Several members volunteer to read the storie to the children and then take them out into Evergreen Nature Preserve for a follow-up nature walk. |
